Giles Vaughan

Born in 1971, Vice-President Giles Vaughan and Shayne go back, way back to school when they shared a home, chores were distributed via notes on the refrigerator door, and degrees weren’t yet in existence (yet).

In 2015 Giles decided to join forces with YardApes bringing 20 years of landscape installation and maintenance experience, along with a degree in Horticulture from NVCC.

Besides impressive credentials, decades of experience in the field, and a no-nonsense attitude, Giles enjoys spending quality time with his family. He and his wife Julie have two children together; Owen and Sophie, as well as man’s best friend (in this case “Stormy”, one of the sweetest Black Labradors in Litchfield County). They enjoy skiing, hiking, golf and spending time together at their beautifully landscaped estate overlooking downtown New Milford.

You may also recognize Giles from many years of service with the New Milford Youth Agency (NMYA), where he spent 15 years planning and implementing programs for local children to become involved in sports, education, and healthy outdoor activities in their free time. While he has since left the NMYA, he is still involved in the shaping of New Milford’s future via coaching High School Cross Country and Basketball.

Lastly, in case you were wondering, our in-house horticultural guru’s favorite plant of all time is the Korean spiced viburnum, prized for it beautiful flowers and strong fragrance.

We believe everyone everywhere benefits from a connection with nature.
